FILESOFT SESSION REGISTRATION 0.1.2
Editable single-user teaching example for FileMaker Pro

One registration per participant-session pair. Register again without creating
another record; cancel and restore the existing registration explicitly.
This is an independent teaching file, not an update to Session Desk.

GET STARTED
Open Filesoft Session Registration_0.1.2.fmp12 in FileMaker Pro on macOS.
This download preserves the owner's walkthrough copy and saved fictional
registrations. It is not an empty database. Read the saved count and status first.
Load examples adds only missing participants and sessions; it does not reset
registrations. Keep a closed backup before experimenting.
Choose a participant and a session using the two native pop-up menus.
For a pair that is not registered, click Register, then click it again. Expect
one new registration on the first click and no new record on the second.
For an already Registered pair, repeating Register should keep its ID and count.
Cancel registration keeps the record and both IDs. Register on a Cancelled pair
asks you to use Restore registration; it does not silently reopen it.
Restore registration changes that same record back to Registered. Its creation
time is retained. Clear choices clears only the selections, not saved records.
There is no reset/delete button in this teaching interface.

WHAT TO INSPECT
Participants, Sessions and Registrations tables, plus Workspace for the interface.
Pop-up menus display names and store IDs. The two Alex Morgan participants are
separate people: P01 Operations and P02 Finance. Both may join the same session.
The stored auto-enter PairKey combines ParticipantID and SessionID with |.
These example IDs do not contain |. If adapting the key, enforce that constraint
or use an unambiguous encoding. Names and status are not part of the key.
PairKey uses Always / Not empty / Unique value validation with no override.
RegistrationID is a separate UUID. Register checks the pair, then uses checked
writes and a checked transaction. Cancel and Restore change only status and
change time. Scripts and schema are inspectable with Full Access.
Script entry points: App > Session registration > UI; workers: Controller.

COMPATIBILITY AND SCOPE
Designed for FileMaker Pro 19.6.1 or later because it uses transaction steps.
FileMaker Pro is not included. Focused native checks used FileMaker Pro 26.0.3
on macOS: registration, repeat registration, cancellation, explicit restoration,
both selection menus, distinct people/sessions, missing choices and normal
close/reopen persistence. Owner screenshots show the main walkthrough.
The minimum version, Windows, Go, WebDirect, responsive layout behavior and
concurrent hosted registration have not been tested. A lookup alone is not a
concurrency guarantee: retain field validation, handle failed commits and test
simultaneous clients before adapting this pattern to a hosted system.
No capacity, waiting lists, booking site, payments, email or attendance features.
No plug-ins, external connections or analytics are included.
